POSITION: HOUSING DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

Full Time  (40 hours per week)  |  Lansing, MI

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Director of Housing Development

Annual Pay Range: $39,520.00 - $47,840.00

POSITION SUMMARY

CAHP's Housing Opportunity team works to expand the availability of affordable homes through significant real estate development and improve the quality of housing stock by delivering home rehabilitation and educational programming. As an essential team member, you will be integral in the administration and coordination of homeowner-occupied rehabilitation projects and support the acquisition and development of affordable housing. Finally, you will work collaboratively to assess prospective opportunities that scale equitable housing options and supportive programs for our neighbors throughout mid-Michigan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handling essential office duties, such as answering and routing telephone communications, responding to emails.

  • Ensuring that the office is well-maintained, organized, and secure.

  • Assist program staff in the marketing, promoting, tracking and maintaining grant/funding application programs as assigned.

  • Responsible for client management and contact, scheduling appointments and coordinating work to be done at homes

  • Track projects to completion, including contractor invoices, payments and Lien waivers

  • Manage paperwork involved in home rehabs and building projects.

  • Organize client files electronically

  • Direct and Manage office and Directors calendar

  • Ability to become familiar and knowledgeable in program guidelines and agency contracts

  • Coordinate contractor invoices and billing for projects

  • Represent the organization at public events as assigned. 

  • Work with team to manage paperwork for property acquisitions

  • Organize contractor paperwork, payments and projects

  • Demonstrate belief in CAHP's mission, values, and impact to our neighbors throughout mid-Michigan. 

  • Additional tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Knowledgeable in Airtable

  • Prepare clear and concise reports and keep accurate records.

  • Deal tactfully and effectively with homeowners, contractors, and others contacted in the course of work.

  • Input, access and analyze data using a computer.

  • Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

  • Ability to analyze and revise practices to improve efficiency.

  • Self-motivated and effective in a team setting and individually.

  • Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills.

  • Initiative and demonstrated sense of urgency.

  • Excellent relationship-building skills and a customer service orientation that leads to sustainable and mutually beneficial external partnerships.

  • Ability to analyze and revise practices to improve efficiency.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, stakeholders, consumers, community partners and the public in an empathetic, inclusive, and supportive manner.

  • Ability to work non-standard work schedule (evenings and weekends) as needed.

  • Professional appearance and courteous manner.

  • Self-motivated and effective in a team setting and individually.

  • Proficiency in Office 365, and general office technology including printers, copiers, scanners, and computers.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

Reports to the Director of Housing Development.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to use office equipment and work sitting in front of a computer for extended periods of time.

  • Reliable transportation for travel within the mid-Michigan footprint. Use of a personal motor vehicle for transportation requires proof of insurance and the driver must have a valid Driver's license.

  • Occasional moderate lifting of supplies and materials.

  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.

ANNUAL PAY RANGE

ll the roles within CAHP have pay ranges that commensurate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the successful candidate. The annual pay range for this position is $39,520.00 - $47,840.00.

CAHP offers a competitive total rewards package including a competitive salary, medical/dental/vision coverage with an employer contribution of 100% towards single coverage and 0% towards dependent coverage effective with the date of hire. In addition, CAHP provides an up-to 3% employer match into the 401(k) retirement plan each year, and annual incentive-based bonuses. Team members receive 18 days Paid Time Off, and 13 Paid Holidays (averaging 22 days off each year). Paid time off is prorated for the first year. Hybrid work arrangements are available for this position.
